Thieves target business premises
MORPETH and Pegswood have been hit by a spate of burglaries and attempted burglaries in recent days.
Two incidents took place at the Coopies Lane Industrial Estate in Morpeth this weekend.
The first was an attempted burglary at a Northumberland County Council Vehicle Depot, which happened overnight between 6pm on Saturday and 4.30am on Sunday.
Intruders forced entry to the secure compound and attempted to get inside a building, but failed and left empty-handed.

The second incident happened at a nearby premises, Booker Cash and Carry, between 5.10pm on Saturday and 8.30am on Sunday. Again intruders forced entry into the secure compound and this time, items were taken from a freezer
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to call 101, quoting log number 497 of 24/11/13.
In addition, between 5pm on Monday, November 18, and 9.30am on Tuesday, November 19, an attempt was made to break into a garden shed at De Merley Road in Morpeth. Nothing was stolen. Source: Morpeth Herald
