Christmas Gift Guide: Ideas for the workshop
From braving the frost to working in a chilly shed, this heated jacket from Makita gives a new twist to keeping warm. The new DCJ200 heated jacket uses a Lithium-ion battery which will give heating for up to 17.5 continuous hours, depending on the version chosen and the heat level selected.
Jackets have central zip fastening and are blouson style with three zip-close pockets – two at the sides and one useful chest pocket. There is an additional sleeve holder for a mobile phone.
Sleeves, which are detachable in milder weather, have elasticated cuffs for heat retention and the jacket hem can be tightened by a pull cord while the crew-type collar provides maximum wind and weather protection.
The battery can either be carried in a pouch on the inside at the rear of the jacket or clipped onto the user’s belt. The three heat zones are in the middle of the back and the two waist side areas, while an LED heat level indicator is on the left breast just below the Makita branding. Prices are from £181 including battery.
